The NFL world has been abuzz with news that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has been suspended the first three games of the 2018 season.
The suspension comes after allegations that he assaulted a female Uber driver in Arizona back in 2016. While the unnamed woman did not make this public record until speaking with BuzzFeed News last November, it sent shockwaves through the league.
Following the three-game suspension announcement, both Winston and the NFL have received push back from those who believe the ban was too light.
Apparently, the alleged victim isn’t working under that same theory. She released a statement through BuzzFeed on Friday indicating that she’s “glad” to see Winston suspended while taking more time to call the Buccaneers’ quarterback out.
Here’s the full statement.

It was reported Thursday that Winston’s apology was part of a settlement with the NFL that allowed him to receive a lesser suspension. Hence, the opening of “Kate’s” statement.
In any event, her statement makes it clear that she’s happy with the way the process played out.
Unfortunately, the same can be said for the masses. Such is the nature of the beast in an NFL where suspensions simply don’t have any rhyme or reason.
