LiAngelo Ball scheduled to workout with the Warriors on Friday

Less than a week after earning their second consecutive NBA title, the Golden State Warriors are already looking forward to the offseason. Such is the nature of the beast in an NBA schedule that moves quickly from the season to the draft itself.

With the 2018 NBA Draft set to take place a week from Thursday, Golden State is slated to hold multiple workouts in hopes of improving its already talent-laden roster. That will include former UCLA basketball player LiAngelo Ball, the younger brother of Los Angeles Lakers star, Lonzo Ball.

It was previously noted that the Warriors would in fact work out the younger Ball prior to next week’s draft. But now it’s official.

Picking 28th overall in the first round, it’s highly unlikely Golden State would exhaust that selection on a project like Ball. The team is looking for an immediate rotational piece out on the wing to mask what promises to be full-scale free agent departures this summer. Ball isn’t that.

Then again, the Warriors have publicly noted that they’re looking to potentially buy a second-round pick for the third time in four years. Remember, they added the likes of Patrick McCaw and Jordan Bell through this avenue in the past.

In no way does this mean the Warriors are enamored with the idea of drafting Ball and the drama he will being to the table. Though, it would certainly make for an epic storyline for the defending champs.
