Warriors, Lakers among teams holding private workouts with LiAngelo Ball

While LiAngelo Ball is not considered to be the kind of NBA prospect that his brother, Lonzo, was, he is drawing interest from some notable teams. Included among them are his brother’s team, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

Ball reportedly has private workouts scheduled with both of those teams, as well as the Los Angeles Clippers.

A team like the Warriors would be interesting and perhaps, the most logical. If LiAngelo were to make the team, he could be brought along slowly, playing predominately in mop-up time. For a prospect like Ball, that may be the best thing.

The Lakers are interesting from an entirely different perspective. Ball’s father, LaVar, has long made it known that he wants all three of his sons to be teammates in Los Angeles. If LiAngelo is drafted, that wish will be two-thirds of the way towards coming true.

Of course, in every case, it is worth noting that the draft is nearly a month away. A lot could certainly change before draft day.

Ball most recently played in Lithuania for Vytautas Prienu. He averaged 12.6 points per game over 14 games. Ball shot 42.5 percent from the field, 41.5 percent on threes, and 63.3 percent from the free-throw line.
