The Houston Rockets gave it their best shot Monday night, but the absence of Chris Paul, who also was desperately missed in Game 6, doomed this squad. The Warriors hung tough in the first half, absorbing wave after wave of the home team’s offensive momentum and were down by 11 points at halftime.
The second half belonged to Golden State. Stephen Curry came alive. Kevin Durant did, too. The Warriors outscored the Rockets 33-15 in the third quarter and went on to win by the final score of 101-92.
Now, after three rounds of NBA Playoff action, we’re right back where we started one year ago. And the year before that. And the year before that. The Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are going to the NBA Finals, for the fourth consecutive season.
Social media had some great reactions to this result, which we should have all seen coming (even though the Boston Celtics and Rockets tricked us into believing something else was possible).
It’s another warriors & cavaliers in the finals, for the 293383937490303 time

I don't foresee Warriors-Cavaliers Part 4 being at all entertaining, but I hope I'm wrong.

Doing the same thing OVER and OVER again expecting a different result. Kinda what watching the NBA feels like. Because we keep getting Cavaliers vs Warriors.

Dear Cleveland Cavaliers, if you play the Warriors, LeBron cannot guard all 5 of the Warriors. Somebody gotta step up😂

WHAT COULD'VE BEENS:
Celtics-Rockets
Celtics-Warriors
Cavaliers-RocketsWe were so close to having a different NBA finals matchup this year, but here we are, for the 4th straight year. Cavaliers-Warriors. #NBAPlayoffs #NBAFinals #Celtics #Rockets #WhateverItTakes #DubNation

I love the NBA, but Warriors-Cavaliers is just a reincarnation of Lakers-Celtics in the 80's. All my life, there has been nothing appertaining to parity and yet I love the product anyway so I guess I'm the stupid one.

Another Warriors and Cavaliers Finals. Maybe I’ll take up knitting.
