Baltimore Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy didn’t make it out of the first inning Tuesday evening against the Kansas City Royals.
Before he had managed to force one out, he had been pulled off the field in favor of Mike Wright Jr. after the Royals hit not one, not two, not three, but four home runs to take an early 7-0 lead.
Jorge Soler hit the first, driving in two runs. Mike Moustakas launched a solo shot all the way out of the stadium.
Moustakas' homer hit Eutaw St. The 95th to do so in Oriole Park history. The 55th hit by an opponent.

Then catcher Salvador Perez hit his own solo shot, making it back-to-back-to-back homers. Three batters later, center fielder Alex Gordon sent Bundy packing with a three-run shot.

Orioles Dylan Bundy is the 20th starting pitcher since 1913 to allow 7+ earned runs without recording an out in the game.

Then, Wright Jr. gave up three more runs before the nightmare of a first inning was finally, mercifully over.
Twitter had some great reactions to all this.
Wow — so now what are the odds of @Royals starter Danny Duffy picking up his first win tonight? (Dylan Bundy ERA: 3.76 to 5.31 after not recording an out… crazy)

@masnRoch Is the Orioles strategy to wear out the Royals by making them run the bases a whole bunch of times in the early innings and then capitalize later on when they are too tired to play defense? #brilliant

The entire Orioles team need to go door to door in Baltimore apologising to every fan. A ridiculous display. #Orioles
