Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten announced his retirement from the NFL after 15 seasons on Thursday. To say that it was an emotional moment for Witten and those close to him would be an understatement.
Now prepared to join the ESPN Monday Night Football broadcast crew, those within the community Witten has done so much for are honoring him.
Here, we see the Dallas skyline lit up as a way to honor Witten.

As you can see, a large amount of Dallas was lit up in blue Thursday night. Witten’s 82 jersey number is also a darn good look.
More so than being a future Hall of Fame tight end, Witten’s presence in the Dallas community earned him the Walter Payton Man of the Year award back in 2012. He’s seen as a pillar within the community and has worked a ton to combat domestic violence.
Rarely do we see a player outside of the quarterback position shown this type of respect upon announcing his retirement. Obviously, Witten was a deity-like figure during his run in Dallas.
