According to Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White, the team’s wide receivers are in for a brutal season catching passes from rookie quarterback Josh Allen.
Piqued your interest yet?
Speaking to Andrew Siciliano on NFL Network’s Up to the Minute, White gushed over Allen’s arm strength and offered an ominous prediction.
“It’s great, man,” White said of Allen’s arm strength. “It’s one of the best I’ve seen at such a young age, for him just coming into the league. I mean he’s been zipping that thing, it comes with a lot of heat behind it. He’s going to break a lot of guys fingers this year.”
Ouch. For the sake of his receivers, we hope White’s prediction doesn’t come true.
The cornerback also was very excited about the Bills’ future with Allen at the helm.
“Josh Allen’s been doing a great job of throwing that ball, man,” said White. “When I say he has a great arm, he’s been throwing it around, man. Hey, be on the lookout for Josh Allen. He’s going to be one of the best young quarterbacks in this league for a long time.”
As Von Miller recently noted, it’s one thing to do well during OTAs and quite another to do well once the bodies start flying around during the season. So, we’ll continue to reserve judgement about what the future holds for young Allen and the Bills.
But clearly, at least one of the rookie’s teammates is excited about this young man’s potential.
