Los Angeles Angels rookie Shohei Ohtani is simply on another level right now. With three homers and seven RBI in his first eight MLB games, the Japanese sensation is dominating from a plate early on his career. But it’s what 23-year-old did on the mound against the division-rival Oakland Athletics on Sunday that has the baseball world abuzz.
Making just his second career regular season start, Ohtani truck out 11 in six perfect innings before A’s shortstop Marcus Semien got a hit off him to lead off the seventh inning. Up to that point, Oakland had swung through an absurd 24 pitches and looked completely over matched against the rookie.
Obviously, this downright dominating performance had those on Twitter talking big time. Here are the best reactions.
Shohei Ohtani, Slider & Splitter combo.
[Just wanted to remind folks that his slider is pretty good too, since I haven't tweeted one today. 😂] pic.twitter.com/wRq8SMaNfO

Ohtani has 24 swings and misses. He’s thrown 6.1 innings. What a monster

Ohtani is throwing harder as this game goes on. Nothing to see here, no big deal. pic.twitter.com/jTjy8PB5FM

Shohei Ohtani is probably the best peanut vendor in the league too but the guy can only do so much
I mean…3 bombs and now a perfect 6 innings with 11Ks….this is getting ridiculous
— Ricky Sanders (@RSandersDFS) April 8, 2018
So Shohei Ohtani is hitting .389 with 3 HRs & 7 RBI in 4 games and now has a no-hitter through 6 innings with 11 Ks. Ridiculous talent.

This would be the moment that Ohtani reveals his glove is actually an ambidextrous one and he's actually left-handed and everybody just loses it.
