The Seattle Seahawks went outside of the box with the 27th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, selecting San Diego State running back and return man Rashaad Penny.
With the #27 overall pick in the 2018 #NFLDraft, the @Seahawks select #RashaadPenny (@pennyhendrixx)!

The logical pick seemed to be either someone to revamp the defense or bolster the offensive line. Social media was baffled that Seattle chose to do neither.
The Seahawks hate protecting Russell Wilson so Rashaad Penny makes sense.

Really hard to understand Rashaad Penny right now for Seattle https://t.co/oX4MeXX3NU

Hope Rashaad Penny is really good at breaking tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

Imagine taking Rashaad Penny over Derrius Guice.
Lmaoooo @Seahawks

WHAT? Rashaad Penny in the first? Why are all my third round players being taken tonight?
— Logan Lamorandier (@LLamorandier) April 27, 2018
The Seattle Seahawks just picked Rashaad Penny over Derrius Guice and Christian Kirk.
That's flat out dumb.

The pick was certainly controversial. Penny can make the pick seem a lot better, but it will be an uphill climb.
