Saints reportedly sign Bears WR Cameron Meredith to offer sheet

Chicago Bears receiver Cameron Meredith

The New Orleans Saints are out here attempting to provide even more weapons for future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, New Orleans has signed Chicago Bears restricted free agent receiver Cameron Meredith to an offer sheet.

The offer is said to be worth around $10 million over two seasons. Chicago now has five days to decide whether to match said offer.

Meredith, 25, missed the entire 2017 campaign after suffering a torn ACL during the preseason. A product of Illinois State, he put up 66 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns for the Bears back in 2016.

This is the same situation Chicago found itself in last month when the Green Bay Packers signed cornerback Kyle Fuller to an offer sheet after the Bears placed the seldom-used transition tag on him. Ultimately, Chicago matched said offer.

It remains to be seen if this is going to be the case with Meredith.
