Michael Jordan will have a new man calling the shots for his Charlotte Hornets squad starting this offseason. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Mitch Kupchak has agreed to a deal to become the team’s next president and general manager.

Kupchak will replace interim GM Buzz Peterson in that role. The Los Angeles Lakers long-time general manager, Kupchak was fired in February of 2017 as the Lakers went through a complete overhaul of their front office structure.
Finishing up a disappointing campaign that will see them miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season, we fully expect the Hornets to overhaul their roster during the summer. In fact, that could include the ousting of head coach Steve Clifford. Hiring an outside GM candidate only adds to this possibility.
