New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey has been a topic of discussion around the Big Apple early this season. After struggling to the tune of a 5.87 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in his first four starts, the 29-year-old former All-Star was relegated to the bullpen recently.
Apparently, Harvey has not taken too kindly to said demotion and is lashing out in the media as a result.
Matt Harvey laughed audibly when approached by reporters today seeking comment about his bullpen debut. "No chance. Zero chance," he said.
Harvey was asked why. "I have nothing to say to you guys," he said.
He was asked why not. "I dont [expletive] want to," Harvey replied.

Teams will generally accept that type of attitude from a top-end player. Harvey has not been that since suffering a torn UCL back in 2014. In fact, he’s posted a 9-19 record with a 5.79 ERA and 1.57 WHIP since the start of the 2016 season.
At some point, the Mets are going to grow tired of Harvey’s attitude. Whether that means the struggling pitcher is on his way out of town remains to be seen. But other teams did show interest in his services over the winter.
