Boston Celtics guard Gordon Hayward has been making some very solid progress in his rehabilitation from the gruesome injury that cost him the entire 2017-18 NBA season.
He’s been posting updates on his rehab throughout the process, including some really cool trick shots and other fun stuff like that. And he’s also been posting serious updates, like the one he shared via The Players’ Tribune on Monday morning.

However, as he’s been throughout this process, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens doesn’t appear to be all that enthused about this progress. In fact, his response to the latest rehab update was downright cold.
Brad Stevens on Gordon Hayward: "I saw that video, pretty slow running. …. The next step of his progression is once every three days he gets on the court and does that. As you can see, it was about 20 percent speed, nothing lateral, no jumping. Long, long way away." pic.twitter.com/pOvakXxJkE

It’s likely that Stevens is actually happy that Hayward is continuing to move forward. But man, this take comes across as pretty icy. Stevens has continually said that Hayward won’t be playing for the Celtics at any time this year, and it’s clear he still doesn’t see it happening, any time soon.
