Bills GM: Richie Incognito won’t return without reinstatement by NFL commissioner

Richie Incognito, Cyrus Kouandjio

Richie Incognito has put himself in the doghouse of Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane. In a huge way, we might add.

As you likely know, Incognito recently said he was retiring from the game of football, citing health concerns as a reason. Then, not long after that, he came out with what appears to be the truth, which is that he really just didn’t like the contract he signed with Buffalo, which also led to the public firing of his agent.

Well, none of this has endeared him to Beane. When asked about Incognito on Monday, he said, quite succinctly, “Richie Incognito is on the reserve/retired list which is not part of our active roster and that’s where we are with that.”

Beane also said that Incognito will have to be reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell if he wants to return to the team.

Obviously, the Bills are not happy with Incognito right now. Regardless of his motivation for doing things the way he did this offseason, Incognito now finds himself in yet another controversial situation with another team. And the worst part about this is that he had won his new teammates over since leaving Miami in disgrace a few years back.
