One member of the Legion of Boom might actually return to the Pacific Northwest next season. Following the departure of Richard Sherman to the division-rival San Francisco 49ers, it looks like the Seattle Seahawks have no real interest in trading fellow All-Pro defensive back Earl Thomas.
According to this one report, Seattle has engaged in trade talks with the Dallas Cowboys surrounding Thomas. Unfortunately for pretty much everyone involved, the team’s asking price is a tad too steep.

That’s right. Seattle is reportedly asking for a first-round pick in exchange for the 28-year-old safety. For the sake of clarification, Dallas selects 19th overall in next month’s draft. That’s just not going to happen.
The idea of Thomas heading to his native Dallas picked up steam late last season when he told Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett to make a play for him following a game between the two teams (more on that here).
Since, there’s been rumblings that Thomas himself wants an extension from the Seahawks. He’s slated to earn a base salary of just $8.5 million next season. With Seattle clearly in cost-cutting mode and Thomas set to become a free agent following the 2018 campaign, a trade could still be worked out. But the Hawks are going must lower their asking price considerably for it to materialize.
