The Oakland Raiders have reportedly agreed to terms with running back Doug Martin, who was recently released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a rough 2017 season.

Martin previously visited with the Raiders, who were said to be making a strong push to land him. Now that they have, one wonders what the future holds for Marshawn Lynch. Recent reports have his status for 2018 very much up in the air, and it’s not out of the question that he could be released for salary-cap reasons.
The past two seasons with the Bucs were not good ones for Martin. He averaged just 2.9 yards per carry in both 2016 and 2017, combining to rush for 827 yards and six touchdowns. Martin was also suspended to open the 2017 season due to a failed drug test.
When healthy and motivated, Martin has been highly productive in the past, however. He went over 1,400 yards both in his rookie campaign back in 2012, and during the 2015 season.
