The New York Jets moved to replace inside linebacker Demario Davis, agreeing to sign Avery Williamson. One day later, Davis has found a new home in the Bayou, reportedly set to sign a three-year deal with the New Orleans Saints worth up to $24 million.

This is a big deal for Davis, who is getting up there in age (29) but still has plenty left in the tank. It’s likely his last chance to cash in like this — $18 million guaranteed is a sweet deal for him — and he’ll be a big help to the Saints, too. New Orleans needed an upgrade to its group of linebackers. Davis represents a big one.
Last season with the Jets, Davis started all 16 games, racking up 135 tackles and five sacks.
