The reported signing of Allen Hurns on Friday raised more questions about Dez Bryant’s future with the Dallas Cowboys. By now it’s well known that his status on the team is tenuous after struggling over the past two seasons and with a cap hit of $16.5 million for the 2018 campaign.
Now, according to Mike Fisher of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, the Hurns’ deal is so affordable that the Cowboys do indeed intend to retain Bryant.

Bryant also spoke to Fisher about the signing and seemed to be pretty happy that Dallas was able to land a starter-caliber receiver in free agency. “That’s just one more weapon for us,” Bryant said.” That’s not terribly interestingly news in and of itself.
But it now looks like Bryant and Hurns will team up with one another to form a solid wide receiver tandem for Dak Prescott under center. Hurns, 26, is two years removed from putting up 1,000-plus yards and 10 touchdowns with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
