Two Jaguars fans receive indefinite bans for throwing objects at Seahawks player

One of the more disturbing things that happened during the 2017 NFL season was when Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson nearly went up into the stands at EverBank Field. He had to be held back from doing so after having objects thrown at him as he was leaving the stadium following an ejection.

You can watch the entire fiasco here.

After the nasty incident, the Jaguars released a statement saying that they would issue a lifetime ban to any fans who were identified as having thrown objects at Jefferson. Now, two months removed from that promise, two of those fans have been identified and Jacksonville is following through.

Ryan O’Halloran of the Times-Union received a statement from the Jaguars on the matter at the conclusion of what the team described as a “thorough examination of the incident.”

“It was concluded that four individuals threw objects onto the field,” the report stated. “Based on available video evidence, we were able to positively identify two of these individuals. All four individuals had relocated to a seat near the field wall toward the end of the game.”

The two individuals who were identified, and subsequently banned, were not season-ticket holders.

Of the two identified fans, the Jaguars’ statement read: “These two individuals have since received notice that due to the severity of the violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, they are banned indefinitely.”
