The fallout over Josh McDaniels’ decision to turn down the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job and remain in New England is continuing around the league on Wednesday.
Agent Bob LaMonte, who represents both McDaniels and Colts general manager Chris Ballard, has reportedly decided to terminate his contract with the Patriots’ offensive coordinator.

This comes after reports earlier in the day that LaMonte told McDaniels he was making the biggest professional mistake of his career by backing out of his deal with the Colts, per NFL.com.
LaMonte’s move is just the latest example of those within the NFL community that have not taken kindly to McDaniels’ late change of heart. It’s also an interesting turn given that one of LaMonte’s other clients, Colts GM Chris Ballard, took to the podium on Wednesday and didn’t necessarily hold back (more on that here).
LaMonte’s agency also represents head coaches Jay Gruden (Redskins), Sean McDermott (Bills), Sean McVay (Rams), Doug Pederson (Eagles) and Andy Reid (Chiefs). In addition to this, it has relationships with multiple general managers around the league.
