Report: Johnny Manziel open to practice squad, no guaranteed money in return to the NFL

Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel is willing to to pretty much whatever it takes to get back onto an NFL roster. He’s made that abundantly clear recently, and now a new report further illustrates how far he’s willing to go.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Manziel would be willing to take zero guaranteed money and play on the practice squad to get his foot in the door at the NFL level again.

Really, this is exactly what you’d want to hear if you were an NFL personnel man and found yourself on the fence about Manziel in any way. He’s been working his tail off to get himself into football shape in recent months, and by all accounts it seems as if Manziel really is clean and sober these days.

His revelation about being bipolar and admission of past mistakes will also be a plus as it concerns an NFL comeback. If he really is serious about taking no guaranteed money and is willing to sign a practice-squad deal, then it stands to reason Manziel will get his second chance.
