
We’re now getting more information on the knee injury Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Jimmy Butler suffered Friday night against the Houston Rockets.
Results of the MRI shows that Butler suffered a torn meniscus in the knee. Now according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, Butler will undergo surgery on the knee and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
Jimmy Butler is expected to undergo surgery in coming days and could return within 4-to-6 weeks, league sources tell Yahoo. Final timetable will be set after procedure.

As the report notes, a full timetable for return will not be known under after Butler undergoes surgery. Though, the six-weeks would enable him to return in time for a potential playoff run.
Minnesota heads into this weekend’s action with a 36-26 record and tied for third place in the Western Conference with San Antonio. In his first season with the Wolves, Butler is averaging 22.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.
