One day removed from Reuben Foster being arrested for domestic violence, threats and possessing an assault rifle, more details have emerged about the incident.
According to Robert Salonga of the San Jose Mercury News, Foster’s girlfriend of several years has accused him of physically dragging her during an argument.
“The reported victim, who has been in a relationship with Foster for several years, also told Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police during a 911 call that he owned multiple semiautomatic rifles, according to an archived police dispatch recording. Officers ended up recovering one firearm, a SIG Sauer 516 short-barreled rifle, sources said.”
Foster was released from Santa Clara County Jail Sunday evening after posting a $75,000 bond. He met with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, and reportedly the team will not make any sudden decisions stemming from this arrest, his second in the past month.
The NFL is also investigating this matter. If the domestic violence claim holds up, then he’d face a mandatory six-game suspension.
