After a bad season (5-11) and last place finish in the AFC West, the Denver Broncos have the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft. While the Broncos can easily select a top prospect, including a quarterback, John Elway is open to trading their pick.

Elway’s comment should now have the attention from many teams picking lower in the first round. This should particularly be the case for quarterback-needy teams that would love to nab a top-rated prospect.
This might also mean that the Broncos are focused on trying to sign a soon-to-be free agent quarterback and stick with Paxton Lynch as a backup. Elway also mentioned Wednesday that the Broncos will look at all the free agent quarterbacks.
The team could also use a later-round draft pick on another rookie quarterback. It will be interesting to see if any teams attempt to bite on Elway’s bait as free agency and the draft inch closer.
