Alabama approves $2 million to improve recruiting lounge for football program

The University of Alabama already features the most successful football program in the nation, and its recruiting efforts are about to get a huge boost.

As reported by Ed Enoch of the Tuscaloosa News, the University of Alabama System board of trustees has approved $2 million to improve Nick Saban’s recruiting lounge.

“The recruiting lounge will be in 7,447-square-feet of renovated space on the first and second floors of the Mal Moore Athletic Facility. The lounge will primarily be used for football recruiting,” per the report. “The work will include upgrading finishes, enhancing audio/visual systems, new lighting, and new graphics and furniture. The preliminary budget is $2 million. The project will be funded with Crimson Tide Foundation funds. Davis Architects of Birmingham will design the renovation.”

Apparently, not landing the No. 1 recruiting class in the FBS this winter (No. 7, per 247Sports) really stings. Also, it seems Saban is going to have to work a bit harder on perfecting his dance moves.

That said, based on the fact that Alabama won its second national championship in three years and its fifth since Saban took over in 2007, we’re guessing things are going to be just fine in Tuscaloosa for the foreseeable future.
