Patriots’ James Harrison doesn’t plan on retiring

Even at 39 years old, James Harrison continues to have a huge impact on the football field. After being released by his longtime Pittsburgh Steelers squad late in the regular season, Harrison created some major drama by signing with the conference rival Patriots.

In his first game with New England, the 16-year veteran recorded two sacks in a win over the New York Jets.

Now, looking to win his third Super Bowl, it looks like Harrison isn’t even contemplating hanging them up following next week’s game against Philadelphia.

“I maybe want to play a year at 40, maybe 41,” Harrison told ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Harrison will turn 40 in May, meaning he wants to play at least one more season. Despite not being utilized much in Pittsburgh this season, Harrison has proven he can be a tremendous situational pass rusher.

In two playoff games with the Pats, he has recorded six tackles and multiple quarterback pressures. Whether his final game with the Patriots is Super Bowl LII next Sunday remains to be seen. But Harrison has no intentions of calling it quits while he’s still a productive player.
