As Johnny Manziel’s agent negotiates with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, the quarterback himself is going to continue working his way back into football shape after having not played since 2015.
Shortly after Manziel’s agent, Erik Burkhardt, issued a statement about his client’s pending comeback, Manziel had this to say.
I’ll keep grinding and let @ErikBurkhardt work this thing out. I have all the faith in the world in him during this process. One way or another I am getting back on a football field this year. Believe that

The former Heisman winner and Cleveland Browns first-round pick did not mince words here.
“One way or another I am getting back on a football field this year.”
He didn’t specify whether it would be in Canada or in the NFL. But it’s readily apparent that Manziel’s first step in returning to the NFL will be up north. The Tiger-Cats are facing a January 31st deadline to sign Manziel to a contract. If that doesn’t happen, the quarterback will look at other professional football opportunities.
Manziel was released by Cleveland following the 2015 season. Since then, he’s made sure to put his old organization on blast. Though, the quarterback seems to be getting his business in order off the field.
And while he still faces a four-game suspension from the NFL, it’s clear Manziel is looking to get back on the field.
