Browns troll themselves on Twitter after 0-16 season

The Factory of Sadness reached a new low on Sunday when the Cleveland Browns lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the most Brownsian way possible, finishing their season with a record of 0-16.

With the loss, they became just the second team ever to go 0-16. And going back to last year, this team has just one win out of 32 — a new low bar in NFL history. Even weirder, the team’s post-game press conference was like something out of the Twilight Zone as owner Jimmy Haslam and head coach Hue Jackson said some eyebrow-raising things.

Afterward, the team’s official Twitter account, a little more in line with reality, trolled the Browns with an epic gif.

It’s hard to imagine things are going to get much better going forward. Top quarterback Josh Rosen has not-so-subtly suggested he’d rather not play for the Browns, and last fall reports emerged that USC product Sam Darnold was thinking along the same lines.

It’s also hard to have any faith that Jackson has the magic needed to captain this franchise out of the AFC’s basement, given his track record.

Browns fans somehow maintain a sense of loyalty to their beleaguered team, which is pretty remarkable. But darkness is a friend of all who dwell in the Dawg Pound, and it’s hard to imagine that’s going to change any time soon.

On a different note, we cannot wait for Hue Jackson to live up to his promise to take a dip in Lake Erie, which is, you know, a frozen tundra right now.
