Despite a rather ugly scene at the end of their loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was reported on Monday that no Seattle Seahawks players would face a suspension.
The general mood on Twitter, especially the Tweets not emanating from the Pacific Northwest, was not bright.

Seahawks players get lucky with no suspension – but both easily could have received bans. Dirty hit. Gotta be smarter

Michael Bennett isn’t going to be suspended? The @NFL needs to wake up. Great job telling the players their safety isn’t important. How many more times will they get it wrong? Ratings + Money > Everything else. #NFL #NFLPA #FireGoodell

That’s Bullsh*t…. NFL Picks and chooses who gets suspended irrationally. Can’t have bush league players getting away with that crap. pic.twitter.com/mdwzCq7TlR

At the end of the day, it’s easy to understand people’s frustrations.
This isn’t the first time a Pete Carroll led Seahawks team has started a fight while its opponent was in victory formation. Additionally, while some fans in Jacksonville deserve blame as well, it seems out of bounds that a truly ugly incident involving the crowd won’t yield one suspension.
But very little in Roger Goodell’s NFL makes sense. So, we shouldn’t be surprised that this doesn’t either.
