Bills’ Tre’Davious White speaks out on Rob Gronkowski hit

Rob Gronkowski

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was suspended one game for a cheap hit on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White. Thankfully, White survived Gronk’s body-slam to his neck.

But, the cornerback is not happy with Gronkowski receiving a mere one-game suspension for something that could have caused a serious injury.

The hit by Gronk was absolutely ridiculous and needless. White was already laying on the ground after he snagged an interception on a pass intended for Gronkowski by quarterback Tom Brady. That is when Gronk struck.

Gronk is 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, while White is 5-foot-11 and 73 pounds lighter. White is indeed fortunate that he went unscathed when Gronk unleashed his fury.

After the game, head coach Bill Belichick apologized to Bills’ coach Sean McDermott for Gronk’s behavior. Gronkowski also apologized in public for the hit. But, what is missing here is a heartfelt apology from Gronk to White. We can understand why White is still shaken up as well as appalled at the entire situation.
