Mike Tomlin: Plan is to play Martavis Bryant Sunday

Martavis Bryant

We’re not too sure what role he will play Sunday, but embattled Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant will likely be active against the Indianapolis Colts.

This comes courtesy of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

Bryant was inactive for the team’s Week 8 game after seemingly requesting a trade and throwing teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster under the bus on social media.

There was some talk of Pittsburgh trading Bryant prior to last week’s trade deadline, but that never came to fruition.

As talented as any young receiver in the game, Bryant had fallen behind the aforementioned Smith-Schuster prior to said suspension. It’s highly unlikely that he will somehow earn the starting role opposite Antonio Brown simply because he will be active on Sunday.

Pittsburgh comes out of its Week 9 bye with a 6-2 record and tied with New England for the best record in the AFC. If Bryant’s head is on straight (a big if), he could be a boon for the team down the stretch.
