Seahawks LT Rees Odhiambo remains hospitalized with bruised heart

The Seattle Seahawks are likely going to be without starting left tackle Rees Odhiambo after he suffered an injury in Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts.

It would be a major blow for a Seahawks team that’s already struggling big time along the offensive line.

Though, the concern regarding Odhiambo extends far beyond the football field. In the second half of Sunday’s game, the left tackle was hit by Colts pass rusher Jabaal Sheard following a Russell Wilson interception. He fell to the ground immediately. And despite playing every offensive snap afterwards, Odhiambo was taken to the hospital, where he remains hospitalized.

Now, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Odhiambo suffered a cardiac contusion, otherwise known as a bruised heart.

We’re not sure what the status of Odhiambo will be moving forward. What we do know is that the Seahawks had already lost previous starting left tackle George Fant to a season-ending injury during the summer.

For now, the hope is that he recovers fully off the field, at which point Odhiambo’s future in the NFL will then be discussed.
