There’s been a big ado about DeShone Kizer’s off-field antics leading up to Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Prior to being benched for his third consecutive start, reports surfaced that the rookie was out partying Friday night. It’s something head coach Hue Jackson hit on following the team’s most-recent loss.
Now, more information is coming out regarding the incident in question. It’s being reported by a local CBS affiliate in Cleveland, that Kizer was actually out partying with veteran receiver Kenny Britt.
This most definitely isn’t a good sign for Kizer, Britt and the Browns as a whole. At 0-7 on the season, the team is a complete dumpster fire. Britt, who was Cleveland’s biggest off-season acquisition, has fallen out of favor big time here. Needless to say, this most-recent incident isn’t going to paint him in the greatest of lights.
Remember, Britt and fellow wide receiver Corey Coleman were sent home prior to Week 6’s game for missing curfew (more on that here).
Britt signed a four-year, $32.5 million deal with Cleveland during the spring. Since, he’s recorded 10 receptions for 128 yards in five games. The veteran has also been a healthy inactive twice.
As it relates to Kizer, he’s obviously in Jackson’s doghouse. Whether that translates to further action from the organization remains to be seen.
