Chuck Pagano: Andrew Luck will not practice for third week in a row

Andrew Luck

It’s been rumored that Andrew Luck had a big setback with his throwing shoulder, and head coach Chuck Pagano said the quarterback is out once again this week.

This marks the third week in a row that Luck will miss practice, and it’s crystal clear the quarterback should have never returned in the first place. Heck, even just looking at the way he threw the ball when he came back, it was clear he wasn’t anywhere close to being able to play.

NFL insider Jay Glazer reported Sunday that Luck was getting a second opinion on his shoulder, which has been painful for him again. He first had surgery to repair damage suffered all the way back in 2015 this past January and only returned to practice a few weeks back.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis has maintained since well before training camp that Luck was stronger than he was last year. The team refused to put him on IR and insisted he’d play this year, despite all evidence pointing to that being a very bad idea.

Hopefully Luck does remain sidelined the rest of the way in 2017. He deserves to have all the time he needs to get fully healthy before returning to practice. Hopefully the Colts are smart enough to realize this.
