This whole DeShone Kizer experiment isn’t going too swimmingly for the rookie quarterback and his Cleveland Browns team. After turning the ball over two more times in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, the former Notre Dame standout was benched in favor of Kevin Hogan.

It’s the second time in as many weeks that Kizer has failed to lead the Browns to a single point prior to being shown the cold, hard pine.
To make matters even worse for Kizer, he became the first quarterback since Josh Freeman back in 2009 to turn the ball over two times inside his opponent’s five-yard line in the same game.

The second-round pick has now turned the ball over an absurd 13 times in less than five full games of action. For us math novices out there, this means he’s on pace for 42 giveaways on the season.
Needless to say, Kizer is not ready to see regular season NFL action. Whether that changes as the season progresses remains to be seen. For now, the Browns are just attempting to get their second win since December of 2015.
