LSU was already down 7-0 at home against Troy Saturday when starting quarterback Danny Etling was hit hard and forced out of the game.

It’s not yet known if Etling will be able to return. He was on the ground for quite some time and appeared to be in tremendous pain. Though, he did eventually get up and run off the field under his own power.
Adding insult to injury, LSU kicker Jack Gonsoulin shanked the field goal on the next play, and LSU went into halftime down by 10 points.
If Etling is unable to play, then it will be up to Myles Brennan to take over. He played a bit last weekend and threw an interception against Syracuse. Brennan is talented but raw. He’s a guy head coach Ed Orgeron talked about wanting to get more involved. But certainly not like this.
Making matters worse for the Tigers, running back Derrius Guice did not suit up for this game as he’s nursing an injury of his own.
