The men of Troy took it to the mighty LSU Tigers Saturday night in Baton Rouge, beating them 24-21. After the game, Troy’s Twitter account did not pull any punches.
Hey @LSU, thanks for having us down for homecoming! We really enjoyed it! 😁

This was supposed to be a gimme win for LSU on its homecoming weekend. In fact, LSU paid Troy to come to Baton Rouge.

The festivities were quickly shut down, however, as Troy took a 10-0 lead into halftime while temporarily taking quarterback Danny Etling out of the game with a huge hit (watch here).
Things didn’t get any better in the second half, either. Troy running back Jordan Chunn carried the Trojans’ offense, finishing with 191 yards and a touchdown in the big win. Etling ended up going back into the game later after freshman Myles Brennan threw an interception. But he was unable to finish off the comeback bid when he himself threw a pick late in the fourth quarter.
In the end, the mighty men of Troy go back home nearly $1 million richer with a win they won’t soon forget. The Tigers, on the other hand, are left with more questions than answers.
