Report: Saints WR Willie Snead suspended three games

Saints receiver Willie Snead

News is happening fast around the NFL, and this is just in regarding New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead.  Snead will be suspended for three games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the suspension was originally pegged at four games but was reduced one game on appeal.

The suspension comes as a result of an offseason DUI Snead received, according to Schefter.

Head coach Sean Payton had this to say when the news of Snead’s suspension broke.

“We are aware of it, Payton said per the team’s official Twitter account. That will factor into how we plan for the early part of the season.”

Snead has proved to be a capable pass-catcher and a steady target of quarterback Drew Brees for his first two seasons in the league. He was targeted 104 times resulting in 72 catches for 895 yards and four touchdowns in 2016.

The Saints will have to get by with Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn and Brandon Coleman while Snead is sidelined.

Fortunately, Brees finds success racking up the passing yards no matter who is out there catching his balls. Snead will be able to rejoin his team in Week 4 in a road game against the Miami Dolphins.
