Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. claims he has a 6-8 week injury

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appears to be fine in spirit. But at the same time, the fourth-year wide receiver revealed he is dealing with an ankle injury that is said to take up to six to eight weeks to heal.

OBJ was injured in the Giants’ preseason game with what now appears to be a high-ankle sprain. After missing the team’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1, Beckham has been limited in practice.

On Wednesday, it was speculated by the Giants that there is “a lot of optimism” that Beckham will play in Week 2, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Although this latest news from Beckham suggests that his playing status for Monday night’s game may be more in doubt.

The Giants noticeably struggled in a major way without Beckham in last week’s loss to Dallas. This might be the case again if Beckham misses the game against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.
