For the first time in decades, it might be safe to invest in a Cleveland Browns quarterback jersey. On that note, rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer is aiming to put an end to the list of quarterback names donning that legendary, infamous Browns jersey we’ve all seen.
“You see that list grow and grow and grow and you hear the people and the chatter throughout the whole community, so now to be put on that list and hopefully ending that list will be an awesome, awesome situation for me, Kizer said per Marc Sessler of NFL.com.”
It is clear that Kizer has no intention of having his name added to the list of failed Browns quarterbacks. He was named the team’s starter after the third preseason game, and head coach Hue Jackson said the Browns will stick with him through the “good and bad.”
Kizer didn’t actually refer to the jersey specifically. But we all know it is still out there haunting the dreams of Browns fans.
From what we have witnessed from Kizer this summer, the Browns are making a wise choice. There will be some good games and perhaps not so good ones once Kizer takes center stage. The plan to stick with him no matter what is a refreshing change considering the team’s recent history.
Kizer is the youngest starting quarterback in the league and the 27th starter for the Browns since the 1999 season.
Those who have already purchased a Kizer jersey can proudly wear it this fall.
