The Indianapolis Colts, already looking at a disastrous start to the 2017 season, will begin the season without cornerback Vontae Davis.
Head coach Chuck Pagano told reporters Tuesday that Davis will miss “multiple weeks” with a groin injury.
Vontae Davis is gonna be out multiple weeks w a groin injury, Pagano said.

That’s bad news.
Davis, who was a Pro Bowler in 2014 and 2015, battled through injuries last year as well. He started 14 games but wasn’t nearly as effective throughout the campaign as he was in the previous two seasons, tallying just one interception and defending just 10 passes.
Indianapolis’ defense was going to be stressed this year, even if Davis was playing at full strength. Without him in the lineup, opposing offenses should have a field day.
And given the fact that Andrew Luck might not even be throwing the football yet, seven months removed from shoulder surgery, the Colts could be looking at some ugly games out of the gate.
