Marshawn Lynch buying local soul-food restaurant so it doesn’t close down

Marshawn Lynch

Not a day goes by that Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch doesn’t make headlines, and for good causes. This time around, Lynch is rescuing a local restaurant so it can remain in business.

Yes. Beastmode will be able to add “restaurant owner” to his laundry list of current jobs. According to Fox KTVU News, Lynch will take over ownership of Scend’s Restaurant and Bar. The current owner, Cassie Nickelson, will be 80 next year and plans to retire in August, per the report.

She had this to say about Lynch stepping in as owner and her long-time connection with the running back.

“I’m comfortable with him and I like him,” Nickelson said per Fox KTVU News. “When he was 9-years-old, he came across the street to get a hamburger and French fries. 25-cent French fries and a 75-cent hamburger.”

Little did Nickelson know back then that the nine year-old boy would eventually buy her restaurant. Nor would she likely have known what a brilliant NFL career Lynch would have.

For those now suddenly very interested in visiting a soon-to-be Beastmode owned restaurant, it is located at San Pablo Avenue and sits right at the Oakland-Emeryville city line, per the report.

It is reported once Lynch takes over, the soul-food based menu might remain in place, but some potential changes could be in store.

We wish Lynch booming success with his latest entrepreneurial  adventure.
