Malik McDowell: Injury not career or life-threatening

Malik McDowell

It was announced on Sunday that Seattle Seahawks rookie Malik McDowell was in a vehicular accident that might force him to miss the entire 2017 season. That’s the bad news. The good news is that later in the day, McDowell took to Twitter to confirm that the injury is not life or even career threatening.

That is certainly good to see.

A season-ending injury is unfortunate. It’s especially unfortunate when the season in question is a rookie season that hasn’t even begun, though it’s unclear if he will miss the entire season or not.

Even if he does, all things considered, this isn’t a disaster or tragedy.

McDowell selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft (No. 35 overall) and was the first pick made by the Seahawks.
