Jeff Hornacek: Kristaps Porzingis no longer on trade block

Kristaps Porzingis is a name to watch as NBA trades go down

The New York Knicks continue to pursue a potential trade partner for Carmelo Anthony, but head coach Jeff Hornacek is under the impression Kristaps Porzingis is no longer being shopped.

This statement is a far cry to the way Hornacek responded when asked a similar question about Anthony recently. In that case, he punted the question to the front office.

Hopefully, for the sake of Knicks fans and fans of the NBA in general, Hornacek has a good bead on what’s going on with Porzingis. One of the most talented young players in the Association, The Unicorn is a cornerstone player for New York to build around, not to discard for pennies on the dollar.

Last season, his second in the NBA, Porzingis averaged 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and two blocks per game.
