Ed Orgeron says Arden Key can surpass Myles Garrett, but after offseason shoulder surgery he might not even be ready for LSU summer camp.
The head coach revealed this information before taking the podium Tuesday morning at SEC Media Days. At this point, they do not know when he will be ready.
“This is going to be a rehab that’s going to take some time,” Orgeron said via Andrew Lopez of Nola.com. “We don’t have a time limit on it but as far as everything we’re hearing, it’s going to be fine. I don’t know when he’ll be back, what time he’ll be back.”
So, there is a alim chance he could miss time because of the surgery he had back in early June. If the Tigers defense were to have to play without the 6-foot-6, 238-pound pass rusher, it would suffer.
However, while the Tigers could use him in the lineup against BYU in their season opener, their first tough game will not come until October when they face Florida.
