While out of town doing a speed camp for kids before Dallas Cowboys training camp, Lucky Whitehead’s dog was apparently stolen from him in an attempt at ransom.

The receiver revealed this information on Sunday in an Instagram post.

Included in the post, Whitehead wrote the following message.

“I’ve taken some time to collect my thoughts on this subject matter, and it’s very heartbreaking to say that Blitz has been stolen from my home last Sunday,” Whitehead wrote. “While out of town, Blitz was being taken care of by a close friend at my house and someone broke in and took him.

“Whomever stole Blitz has contacted my phone numerous times, demanding ransom money. I strongly advise you to stop and return my boy safely before it gets any worse!”

Based on what we can see from his Instagram account, Whitehead has only had his pup since May of this year.

The person or persons responsible for taking this pup should be ashamed of themselves. We hope Whitehead is reunited with Blitz as soon as possible.
