Among the many reports swirling around Colin Kaepernick is the idea he wants $9-10 million per year, but that is apparently way off base.
At least, that’s what Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting.
“The source said it’s ‘completely false’ to suggest that Kaepernick has requested $9 million to $10 million per year.
For what it’s worth, this scribe never thought the initial report was true. Kaepernick, like all players, wants to be paid what he’s worth. But by no means has he ever been unreasonable when it comes to his contract. And at this time, there simply is no market for his services based on all the evidence that’s out there.
Right now, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is more worried about supplying resources to people in need than he is about securing his NFL future. With that in mind, it wouldn’t surprise us at all if these reported demands were nothing but dust in the wind.
That said, we also wonder if he’ll land anywhere at all, demands or no demands.
