Martellus Bennett is a fascinating man, both on and off the football field. He has many interests that have captivated him, including authoring and illustrating children’s books and building associated games to be played after reading (more on that here).
A free agent this spring, Bennett could potentially cash in on being part of a Super Bowl team — something he hinted at after the big game.
That said, perhaps Bennett is more concerned with life after football than he is about signing on with the highest bidder this March. At least, that’s the sense one gets after reading his response to one fan’s message on Twitter.

Bennett is going to be 30 years old when the 2017 NFL season kicks off. He’s likely not going to have another chance to sign a lucrative deal with big guaranteed money, so it won’t be shocking if he does leave New England for greener pastures (pun intended).
But at the same time, it’s clear he has found a comfort zone in Boston, both on and off the field. With that in mind, he very well could decide to stick around and help New England attempt to win its sixth NFL title in the upcoming years.
