Michael Floyd is clearly motivated to prove the Arizona Cardinals made a mistake by cutting him a few weeks back. In the first quarter on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, the receiver absolutely would not be stopped as he willed himself into the end zone on a 14-yard touchdown catch and run.

A former first-round pick of Arizona, Floyd was cut by the team following an arrest for DUI — a move that did not sit well with his former teammates. New England claimed him off waivers, got him integrated into the system with a crash course in Josh McDaniels’ offense, and now he’s delivered.

This touchdown put the Patriots up by the score of 14-0, and they look razor sharp in their playoff tune-up game. If Floyd can continue to prove himself a valuable asset in the passing game for Tom Brady, this team will be incredibly difficult to contain going forward.
