In what could very well be the first pretty big trade of the NBA season, the Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers are finalizing a trade that would send them former All-Star Kyle Korver from the Atlanta. Hawks.
Vertical Sources with @ShamsCharania: Atlanta is finalizing a deal to send guard Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This could potentially be a major coup for Cleveland. While Korver has struggled making much of an impact this season, he is still averaging 9.5 points while shooting at a solid 41 percent from distance.
The acquisition of Korver comes with fellow three-point artist J.R. Smith sidelined for the foreseeable future with a broken thumb. Once Smith does return to action, this will only add depth to the best team in the Eastern Conference.
There’s currently no information regarding who might be headed back to Atlanta in this deal. Though, currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, there’s little reason to believe Atlanta is in selling mode here.
